i am working on redhat linux 9,with a netgear ma311 chipset.i also have a Realtek card installed(eth0).i have installed and configuerd the netgear card(eth1).The problem is that i can access the network for sometime before it shows me the following error:

SIOCSIFFLAGS: device or resource busy.

i have edited /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcg-eth1

also i tried giving following commands ...which still resulted in same error

ifconfig eth1 up
/sbin/modprobe orinoco_pci
ifconfig eth1 up



please let me know what the error could possibly be???

When configuring the wireless card you want to set the mode to ad hoc and transmit rate to auto. With FC4 it takes those errors away. However, I still get an "icmp open socket: access denied" error. I am attempting to work through this. Do you have any insight to this?
