MON software not responding----------------

hello sir ,we are a group of students working on a Linux virtual server project. We had implemented Linux Virtual Server(LVS) and two real servers (providing http services). Now we are using MON for detecting failures of two real servers(Through LVS).First we want to check it on one realserver independently of LVS.we had installed the required perl modules for mon-0.99.2 .we had installed fping-2.2b1.Then We edited /etc/mon/mon.cf ( and made sure that all the monitors/alerts except for fping.monitor and test.alert are commented out (there is an alert/upalert pair for each alert, both uncommented for test.alert).Then We started mon with . / S99mon start, But it is showing following messages in /var/log/messages:-Jan 27 05:14:54 DUPLICATE mon[1656]: calling alert test.alert for LVS/fping (/usr/lib/mon/alert.d/test.alert,) could not open pipe to fping: No such file or directory

Also We wanted to tell you that the output of /tmp/test.alert.log is:-Thu Jan 27 06:27:13 IST 2005 -s fping -g LVS -h 10.11.151.99 -t 1106787433
But actually the machine(10.11.151.99) is pingable manually.
What could be the problem sir
