Hi,
I have a problem with my printer. Its a HP4000n connected tot he network via JetDirect Card, I have entered all the details provided to me by my network admin (IP, GW, SN). In Linux I have run the printer config gui and i know its right, however when i try to ping the printer it says destination host unreachable. Any suggestions?
Your Linux computer is probably not on the same subnet as the LJ4kn I have an LJ4000tn at work that has no problem with Linux, and it does respond to ping.
Post your IP/SN and the printer's IP/SN. Someone (if I don't see it first) will tell you if it looks right.
iv printed the configuration of this printer and another (same model) in the office.
under PORT SELECT my printer is set to BNC.
and the other printer is set to 10base-T.
this might be the problem. i cant find in the menu where to change the PORT SELECT option.
