Issues with Huawei E1756 USB Modem on Lubuntu 10.04...

As four months ago I bought a Huawei E1756 USB modem for Internet connection, so far I have been run on a PC running Ubuntu Karmic smoothly. Recently I decided to switch to Ubuntu 10.04 another machine that I have (earlier in Xubuntu 8.04), however since it is limited resources, can not run Ubuntu Gnome desktop smoothly, so I decided to install Ubuntu desktop but LXDE 10.04 (LUbuntu 10.04) .
I tried to configure the Huawei E1756 USB Modem as I did it on my Ubuntu 9.10, I have accomplished with all the steps as indicated, however once I have the procedure and have set even through Network connections-Mobile Broadband options (as I did before in my Ubuntu 9.10) the modem does not work, even does not appear as a possible network device in the Network Manager Applet on Up Panel, and despite of I chose "Connect automatically" option earlier, it is not possible to connect automatically. However, it should be noted that by issuing the lsusb command to the console the result I get is the correct one:

Bus 002 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0001 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 12d1:1406 Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd.
Bus 001 Device 001: ID 1d6b:0002 Linux Foundation 1.1 root hub

This tells me that the system when you connect a USB device whose vendor = 12d1 and product id is 1446 (original id for Huawei E1756) is interpreted as vendor = 12d1 product = 1406 so that the system correctly interpreted as a USB Modem and not as a mass storage device.

I searched through Google but so far everything I tried still gives me the same result or worse.

Anyone have any idea what happens? Can anyone help me?

Sincerely
jfssven
