when iptables tries to load, I get the following error message:

iptables-restore v1.2.6a: can't initialize iptables table '`: Tables does not exist (do you need t oinsmod?)
Prehaps iptables or your kernel needs to be upgraded.

I just installed rh 8.0 and wrote a custom /etc/sysconfig/iptables. I tried lsmod | grep ip and I got the following:

iptable_filter 2316 0 (autoclean) (unused)
ip_tables 14456 1 [iptable_filter]

Is there a module missing? When I type the rules in by hand, it says nothing, but the website is still not blocked. Any ideas?

I'm sorry to have taken your time, but this popup in the future too, I solved this error by typing in the commands I wanted manually and then doing a iptables-save >> /root/iptables and then copying that file to /etc/sysconfig/iptabels. It works, now I know what the command syntax is in the iptables file, I can add data to that accordingly. Sorry to bother you.
