internet connection thru command prompt


does somebody know how to connect to the internet thru the command prompt? i have been looking in books and online but cant find it.

It depends on your connection type. It's different for modem, DSL etc.

if you are using dsl or cable or eth just activate the eth if you are using ppp there are pleanty of scrpits to take care of it i never used it so i dont know much about ppp

jmarsh, are you wanting to know a command line web browser?
Or are you wanting to connect your machine to the internet?

i am using ssh to connect to my machine. from the command line i want to connect to the internet. i have cable internet access.

I think pppoe is the right command (you may need extra options).
