How to mirror a drive/directory from Windows to Linux Fedora FC5

I am a newbie to Linux. I want to mirror/synchronize a Windows network drive over to a Linux drive. I have googled all over and found stuff about a Linux command called "rsync" but it was very confusing.

I want to mirror (once daily) what ever happens on windows network drive x: over to Linux directory called \\share\mirror

Any suggestions from anyone?

Thanks!

What version of linux are you using? There should be documentation for rsync available to you on your linux machine via "man rsync" or "info rsync" typed into a terminal shell. That local documentation might be better organized than what you saw on the net, and more easily accessible as well.

rsync should do the trick, there must be quite a lot of docs on the net.

I am using the version of rsync that comes with Fedora FC5. I saw the help file (and wads of documentation) but I was hoping for someone that saw this post and said "I do the same thing ...the command is 'rsync -too much coldbeer givesyoua sparetire'" :>

I tagged your post with what you are looking for so that it can get the attention of those who have worked with rsync. I haven't done anything with rsync myself as of yet.
