How to disable iptables?

I'm having really weird problems explained here: Weird problems. So I thought the problem might be iptables, so how do I disable it? Do I have to delete all the rules and if so how do I do it? Or is there an easier way to get the traffic moving freely? I'm now getting really frustrated with this situation...

That will shut off iptable for now but if you have them configured to run at startup they will turn back on when you reboot. To permanently disable them from starting up on boot up do:

chkconfig --levels 345 iptables off
