I'm new member here in this web. and new member in Linux program. I want your help to make connect with Network(samba server), I mean if I have many computers, and I want make connect with these computers.
I have linux Redhar9, so please, please help me> I'm search about it many times and I hope find what i want here.
if u want to configure samba then going by the easy way will be configure that through SWAT(samba web admin tool)
this package is there in RH9 CD
install that package and follow he instructions
the other way is to edit the /etc/samba/smb.conf file and follow any tutorial
I want ask you, must be Swat with Samba, becz I didn't install it, and I think swat will be when we make partition, one for linux and another one for swat, that's true.
Unless you selected individual packages swat was not installed.
swat is just a tool to configure the smb.conf file.
Have your read the documentation at www.samba.org
swap partition is the same thing as windows virtual memory. For example if you try to run an program but your RAM is full any idle applications or data will be swaped to the hard drive.
u need to refer to any samba tutorial since we are not aware of ur network and requirements so we cannot tell you more here
visit the samab tutorial at HOWTO's section at
