[SOLVED] Connect Linux PC to windows network

Sorry if this question as been asked before.
How can I connect My Linux PC to a windows network through a Windows PC?
OK, let me explain this better,
I have a XP PC connected to a network of windows PC's, I also have a linux PC which I ONLY want to connect to my local network with thru my XP PC.
A bit confusing

.
I do not want to connect to the Internet with the Linux PC, just the local LAN.
How do I do this?

just configure samba on ur linux machine
look for a samba tutorial here at LQ

You will need routing turned on on your windows machine if you wish to connect to any pc in your lan, not just the one you are directly connected to.
You will also need the linux pc's ip to be outside of the lan's ip/netmask, and lan computers will need a route to it through your xp pc. Note that you may need a special smb setup to access the lan workgroup because you can't broadcast; you will need WINS.
