Hosting a domain!? :(

Does anyone know of a tutorial or readme that will explain in step by step how to setup and host a domain using Redhat Linux 9?

Maybe anyone can help me? I currently have a PII SCO Unixare 7.1 server that hosts a website for a clerk's office. I am trying to get a new server and put Linux on it and I would like to take the existing www website and host it off the new linux box and manage it with Cpanel. How do I go about doing that?

Any takers?

Thanks!

Leonard

First off, you'll ideally need a static IP address. Dynamic IPs make this more involved than it needs to be.

Secondly, you'll need to run a name server in order to host your own domain.

Check out The Linux Documentation Project http://www.tldp.org/

You're looking for the BIND how-to. Pretty much all you need to know to set up your name server.

Check with your ISP whether or not they have an option for static IP addresses.
