Help with monitor mode in Kismet

Hi... Can you help me please?
How to set up my wifi card to monitor mode, to will be able to capture packets from only one wireless network? For example I need capture packets from network - essid "KOZ4" channel 8. When I used shift + L in Kismet on this network, so my card captured packets from other networks too and packets from network KOZ4 were mostly malformed and previous segment of packets were lost. I have Intel 3945 wifi card with ipw3945 driver and Ubuntu 6.10 32b.

I hope that you will understand my problem and sorry for my English

First of all I hope your not trying to break into someones wlan and that your only experimenting on your own.

I have not tried to capture packets with kismet that much i can however recommend another program that i think is way more competent. Program is "airodump" its a part of "aircrack", with airodump you can capture packets on specifik channel and on specifik accesspoint even between specifik client/AP. You control it via cli wich can be a bit more difficult but once you get the hang of it its great.
Heres a link http://www.aircrack-ng.org/ .

Good Luck!
