Getting rarpd to work under Redhat WS4

Hello,

I am trying to get a rarp server working on my Red hat WS4 desktop. I downloaded the source for rarpd (rarpd-ss981107-14) and had no problems installing it.

I have two network interfaces on my desktop, one connected to my company network and another connected to a local subnet. I need to be able to respond to rarp requests on the subnet. (FYI, I tried removing one interface and just keeping the one to my subnet to see if the multiple network interfaces was a problem but it made no difference)

I can start the rarpd service from root with no problems. I specify the right interface when I start it. I have my /etc/ethers file configured properly. Yet it does not respond to rarp requests from a client. I tried running the service in debug mode but it did not record any rarp requests. Is there some other configuration file I need to edit to get this to work? Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advance,

abs
