getting/putting whole folders ftp

Hi

I'm using lftp. Is there any way I can get/put whole folders?

It doesn't have to be with lftp, it can be any other cli ftp client.

Sometimes I use mc but for some reason sometimes it won't cd into a network directory and the more I click on the directory I want to enter the longer pwd is

e.g after 5 clicks on the directory data

ftp:192.168.1.102/data/data/data/data/data or something like that, which doesn't make sense

thanks

Ok there's an -R option in ncftp however, I can't log in:

Code:
ncftp> open -P 1979 -u sycamorex 192.168.1.102
Connecting to 192.168.1.102...
NET Disk FTP Server ready.
Logging in...

ncftp / > ls

it's always this invalid reply error. The only config files in .ncftp are

Quote:
firewall history init_v3 log prefs_v3
The following is the prefs file:
Code:
anon-password=NcFTP@
auto-ascii=|.txt|.asc|.html|.htm|.css|.xml|.ini|.pl|.hqx|.cfg|.c|.h|.cpp|.hpp|.bat|.m3u|.pls|
auto-resume=no

save-passwords=ask
show-status-in-xterm-titlebar=no
so-bufsize=0 (use system default)
xfer-timeout=3600
yes-i-know-about-NcFTPd=no
I tried passive=yes but it didn't change anything.

any hints

thank you
