Fedora Networking

I've loaded and am testing a copy of Fedora (with KDE 3.1.4) on a spare hard drive for my Dell Latitude D600 notebook. Has anyone experienced anything diffferent about mounting Samba shares in Fedora than in RH 9.0 (which I had planned for Fedora to replace in my life!) I am typing the following in the terminal:

smbmount //server/share /mnt/apple

where apple is a folder I created for the Mac's shares. Anything I should do differently? The terminal just basically hangs for a while with the cursor neither moving nor blinking.

Perhaps this may work: mount -a //server/share /mnt/apple
