Hi
I have installed ezbounce and mdidentd on my Debian 2.2rev6 system, and everything works fine except for mdidentd. It won't give a fake ident properly to an irc server.
root 26536 1 0 May02 ? 00:00:00 /usr/local/sbin/mdidentd /usr/sbin/identd
There's the mdidentd process running.
May 3 20:02:05 mylinux mdidentd[26536]: ilist: fake ident registered: 4670 , 6667 abc
May 3 20:02:05 mylinux mdidentd[26536]: Request from 212.50.131.132 for: 4670 , 6667
May 3 20:02:05 mylinux mdidentd[26536]: (fake) reply: 4670, 6667 : USERID : OTHER :abc
May 3 20:03:35 mylinux mdidentd[26536]: DEBUG: Deleting expired (45 secs) fake ident request 4670 , 6667 : abc
Here is a clip of what mdidentd writes to syslog when connecting to an irc server (IRCNET) through ezbouncer. (fake ident = "abc")
By looking at the syslog, it seems to be working fine.. but in irc my ident is always what I've set as my email address in mIRC. If my email address would be set to
foo@bar.com, my ident would be ^foo, and NOT what I tell ezbouncer&mdidentd to fake it as.
I have not forgotten to modify ezbounce config. It reads:
set enable-fake-idents 1
set auto-fake-idents 1
Hmm.. Ok there are the facts. Can someone help?
