installed etch(r0) no problem. installed rt61 wireless driver(WMP54GR) via of module-assistant. network manager already installed. wpa_supplicant installed and configured. the problem is network-manager says my connection is wired , and the network is ralinkl2600. can anyone help me with this. my essid is not ralink2600.
Well, I have the same card as you and in some part of the configuration process I learnt that RT61 = Ralink 2561. It's the same card and it can work with the same driver as RT 2500 (at least on my computer).
So, your problem is that network-manager says wlan0 is a wired network? Try installing SerialMonkey drivers, or just those that come from repositories (I think they only differ on the version).
