hey, this is my msg after following a few instructions in setting this thing up. I am a complete newbie, so if you do find an answer to my question, then please...laymans terms :

own IBSSID instead.

what does this last part mean. and also, i'm not getting a connection. i have wep enabled on my di 614+ router, and i have entered the key into the ifcf-wlan0(<--can't rem exact spelling) file, but i have a feeling that this might work if i disable the wep option. i'll try this later. i know its reading my router, cause it obviously mentions the ssid up there(MainOffice, and MainOfficeExt when it get's a reception from my AP on the other side of the house).

so, if the device is found, and i'm getting a reception, and can't connect to the router or the internet, what am i doing wrong? if you want to see my wlan0 file and/or anything else, please let me know. thnx

never mind people. a friend of mine has figured it out. for some reason, my module is loaded before the driver? something like that. and because it does this, it doesn't set up right, so when i get in, i have to do 'ifup wlan0' and everything is ok now. even with wep too. ofcourse, to all you newbies like me, when u setup wep, i have 64bit hex, not ascii. also, i have found something on one site that i hadn't found on some others. after you place the driver where it needs to be, and do what ever other mods, u have to do a 'depmod -a'. i hope i have acctualy helped someone else.

now, could someone help me figure out how i can get my card to load up correctly the first time? and how can i setup several settings so that, when i go to school, i don't have to change my file and then restart again and have to go through all this. thnx.
