connection linux to the web
Hi,
I'm new to linux and have a question about network configuration.
I have a small home network that consists of one windows PC, one Linux PC and one Solaris Sparc Station. The windows PC is connected to my broadband link and has a proxy server running, on the linux machine I've configured Firefox to access the net through the Windows Proxy.
I also want to be able to access the web via the Linux Shell, I've tried configuring the Gateway address to match the IP of my windows box but no joy. basicaly I need to configue, Linux so I can FTP out of my home network and onto a server on the net. Can someone pleasetell me how to configure linux to do this, I know it can be done as our work Servers access the outsuide world via a Squid proxy, but I don;t know how they are configured.
Matt
