change mac address possible?

Is it possible to change the mac address on the orinoco or ipw2200? Or is it hardcoded to the card?

Hi,
Have u tried the ifconfig command to change the MAC address.
Code:
ifconfig eth0 down hw ether <MAC ADDRESS>

I think mac adress cant be changed, they are unique.
not sure though

Thank you Pete, It is possible to spoof these mac addresses and Pete has a good page on this in his link. It may not work with all cards, but i have tried quite a few now and never had a problem with it.
