Can I use ntpd through a socks proxy??

I'm trying to make my ntpd work, but there's no luck.
I can usr "runsocks ntpdate" to set my time, but ntpd seems can't work by that way, I don't know if there's somebody who can use ntpd through a proxy.

thank u very much!!
