can't mount windows 2003 shares - permission denied

I'm trying to mount my window 2003 shares into suse 9.3 but I'm getting a permission denied error. (I've already fixed the problem of widnows 2003 security policy not allowing smbfs)

As su, I enter the following: # mount -t smbfs -o username=user,password=mypassword //server_ip/shared_folder /home/user/shares

So far everything works but when I try to navigate to the shares, whether through konsole or konqorer, I get a permission denied error. I know I've entered the correct username and password.

When I access the windows 2003 box through konqorer, I can see and use all the files properly - I just can't mount them.

What am I doing wrong?

check the netbios names and workgroup names are all the same...
if you were in windows accessing linx i could help more... as it stands, see if there are any options you can pass to mount to have it specify a Workgroup.

Sounds like a problem with your work group - check all are the same!
