bond interface doen't take the default gateway, eth0 does


after having configured eth0 and eth2 to be bound together to bond0 I have the following problems:

1. the default gateway is on eth0 and not bond0,
0.0.0.0 10.127.103.254 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 eth0

but after a service network restart the routing table changes and bond0 has the default gateway.
0.0.0.0 10.127.103.254 0.0.0.0 UG 0 0 0 bond0

2. the second problem, that doesn't dissapear is that not only the bond0 but also eth0 has the ip address.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Show us your config files for the eths as well as bond0.

But why would you want to fix stuff on one of the interfaces that make up a bonded interface? I think that would start all kinds of weird behavior to happen.

Can't really tell one way or the other, since we dont' know how the bonds are set up...
