Setting the default gateway to a VLAN interface

Hi all,

I try to set the default gateway to a VLAN interface (e.g. eth3.1234). After that, the network behaves strange, e.g. is very slowly, some connections don't work, etc.
After having removed the default gateway, everything is fine...

Any ideas about that?

thanks and regards,

My first thought is to check out the vlan and make sure
that the connections are good. My second thought is to
make sure you can reach your dns server(s) through the
vlan. If you can't resolve names and addresses, you'd
notice slow initial connections or failed connections.

The vlan connections basically are good, I've tested that... But DNS is a good point. Currently, we have a firewall issue on port 53, that might be the solution...
