Backing Windows backups ?

Hey ppl,

I'm looking for information on how to store files under Linux on a regular basis (once a week). I'm running on a network of computers, most are using Windows XP with an NTFS file system. The backups are created on the Windows machines, all I want to do is schedule a time when Linux goes and grabs that file off each Windows machine and puts it in it's NFS file system. By the way I'm running SuSE 9.1 Pro. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

You would setup a script to run weekly via cron. You would also need to share the directories containing the backups on the Windows machines.

The script would do the following:

1. Mount the shared backup directories

2. Use rsync to synchronize the mounted directory with a directory on the local HDD

3. Unmount the shared directory

4. Create a log of what files it backed up
