audio over network (slackware + ubuntu)

Hi,
I have a Desktop running Ubuntu (Feisty Fawn) and a laptop running Slackware 11. My question is: how can I access the soundcard of my laptop from the desktop and vice versa? What I have in mind: e.g. running two music players on the desktop but redirect one of them to output on the laptop.
Has anyone done sth like this?
Thanks in advance, Chris

You need to enable Network Sound. Mine is under Multimedia & Sound in my Control Centre. I don't know where you would find it under Gnome.
