asus ethernet adapter?

I am using fedora 9 on ASUS Laptop dual core.In configuring the network, I have the problem in choosing the right Ethernet adapter. I went to system, administration,Network, and then I chose NEW. I then selected Ethernet connection, then clicked forward, I am then asked to select the Ethernet device. This is where I have the problem.
