are talk,gtalk,ytalk;LAN instant messengers?!


Hi Everybody

I'm looking for a LAN instant messenger,I tried gtalk,ytalk,talk but they seems don't work with LAN,the IPs of the LAN are always unknown hosts!
though thier servers already running,gtalkd,talkd..

I believe those are more like chat programs than instant messaging programs.
