Adsl and dialup modem at once

I have a adsl 640K working connection.
For many reasons i need to make my good old 56K winmodem works as well.
Actually i don't need to make they work at the same time (i wouldn't be a big deal ), but just make either one of them work at once.
I know that i can make the old modem working because before the adsl i used it, so that's not the problem.

The Big Question IS:
--------------------------

May i install two different modem in one linux box without having the whole linux box fucked up, with the chance to choose which modem and relative connection i would like to use by time to time?

Does someone have any experience with this topic and would like to make me benefit of the wisdom of his experience, pls ??
