Accessing Network Drive from Linux

I have Lenovo ix2 Desktop Network Storage (192.168.1.xxx) installed in my office network to be used as Public Disk for office users.

I am unable to access the drive through Linux (I am using Fedora 28). I have tried mounting the same using :
sudo mkdir /media/Data
sudo mount //192.168.1.xxx/SnT /media/Data

but getting mount: bad usage ERROR...

Can anyone please let me know, I am unable to understand what is going wrong.

The same directory is easily accessible from windows, but not from linux.

You should be able to access the NAS from the file browser. Clicking browse the network should scan and display the share or you can directly enter the URL in the location box smb://192.168.1.xxx/SnT.

You can manually mount the share using cifs but you might need to install cifs

sudo dnf install samba-client samba-common cifs-utils

sudo mount -t cifs //192.168.1.xxx/SnT /media/Data

Indeed you need to install cifs as indicated by michaelk. The you can access the ix2 shares using samba (=Windows) protocol.

You can also create an NFS share in the IX2. That is, if your firmware still allows NFSv3. If it does only NFSv4, you might want to stick with Samba. NFSv4 can be complicated.

You need to install nfs client on you linux box as well if you want to use it. Check your package manager for the correct packages to install.
