3COM 3c905c IRQ conflicts

I am trying to use a 3com 3c905c NIC to boot via LTSP 3.0 into a redhat 9.0 system.

But whenever I use the 3com card, X windows complains that it cannot find the mouse.

Fatal Server Error:
Cannot open Mouse (No Such File or Directory)

I am using a serial mouse in Com1, which works without hassles when using a different n/w card.

I am guessing that I have a IRQ comflict betwen the card and mouse port.

Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for sorting it out?

First instinct: try booting with append="noacpi "
You'll need to add that line to your kernel block in lilo.conf, or just add "noacpi" to whatever appends are there.

I don't know if it will make a difference, since it will depend on your hardware, but acpi is known to cause issues like this.
Failing that, you should also be able to manually assign IRQs and the like - never had to do this though.
