Question 3c509 configuration problem (or confusion)

Greetings: I recently did a new install of
Slackware 10.2 which is kernel 2.4 somewhere
late in the series. I have a 3c509 Combo card installed as I want to do some AUI work, but am currently using the BNC 10base2 connection. As
near as I tell there is no modprobe (modules.conf)
option to set the port? Everything works fine if
I boot, and then run ethtool to set the port
to BNC, but it defaults to 10baseT. Any Suggestions?
I can live with it, but it would be nice if things
came up without this extra step. What am I missing?
Will
