Android "app" development

Knowing nothing about development of "apps" for Android or about Kotlin, I have to ask what is the current best practice in that area?

I see android-sdk, a Software development kit for Android, in the repository. Is it the way to go? Or would something else be more in tune with the times? If there is a well-known site with a brief overview, especially of the work flow behind making an "app", that would help.

I don't yet plan to try making an "app" but merely would like to try to get up to speed on what is happening in the mobile space.

Down at bottom there should be a getting started thing. You would probably use Android Studio if you ever develop an app. Android Studio may work on many Linuxes.

That may help if you want a direct link. Please tell me if you want more, I do Android apps. X E.
