thank you for interest
actually i discovered linux very long time ago, i always focused on windows+opensource logs, because out of my love for the linux it always been a pain to manage simple things - and it is going worst and worst - like GIMP, it was good and they decide to make it ugly (everyone i know would agreed, i have abandoned the idea of telling graphist friends to use it)
my mother in law is into linux and she lives a city with help around, she had a very old computer and she use mint without problem, me i have stronger computer but nothing works - she do use many desk, internet work, while i'm on graphics mostly, so i don't understand what's wrong
i tried find help on linuxmint forum and got only arrogant answers, this plus the fact they were happy with linux on Musk BS is enough to me
i'm tired with futuristic approach, pro obsolescence, security/paranoia main concern (how many password do we do in a single day?), windows like attitude "you are not smart enough to do anything in your device, need a root, or superroot, oh wait for hypersupermegaroot"
command line is fun but i can't remind after few weeks, its just that i don't to be slave of my device, just need a good tool, that's it
I'll go for a MX test, just downloaded

Don't give up, paranoidismyfeed! You're throwing the baby out with the bathwater!
Sure, you can do a lot with Linux Mint, but the point is: You don't need to do a lot; you only need to do what YOU want to do.
Linux is FREE, it works, and it has an extensive, very knowledgeable support base. Don't get caught up with personalities; there are a-holes on any forum! Just gravitate to those who are actually willing to help, and you'll be fine.
