Did you even read the forum I referenced to? Yes, it does work, but it will take some effort on your part.

Ok, not to be mean, but do you know how to read? I'm not here to hold your hand through this step by step. Do you have any knowledge whatsoever of linux? Sorry if that comes off as being mean......

Are you even reading what I am saying? You don't need wicd, but you need to install the proper drivers on your system.
