Account has no permissions Android ES File Explorer Pro

After configuring Samba on my PC I'm getting "The account has no permissions" when I try to access the shared folder on my Android phone. I'm using ES File Explorer from the phone.

I created the directory share1 and did...
"chmod 777 /home/user/share1"

I created the user with "useradd" and gave the user a password with the command...
"smbpasswd -a user"

After all that i did the command "systemctl restart smbd"

Here's what my smb.conf file looks like...

[share1]
path = /home/user/share1
valid users = user
read list = user
write list = user
browsable = yes

I'd appreciate any help. My PC and the 'share1' folder shows up on ES File Explorer on the phone. When I tap on 'share1' I get the "account has no permission" Login fails message.
