X failure when trying to add second monitor on RHEL 5


System is a Dell Latitude D630 and I am trying to add a second monitor but X does not come back up after enabling "dual head" mode in "System->Administration->Display" and logging out. In /var/log/Xorg.0.log there is the following line:
