Wireless Network Not working

Hi !

I just installed CentOS 5.4 on my laptop. It is working okay in general but there are two issues:-

1. The wireless ethernet card was not prompted during installation. Thus could not be configured. The output of lspci shows:

Realtek RTL8187SE wireless LAN controller (rev 22)

Is there any way I can configure this interface ?

2. The in-built camera was also not got configured during installation. The output of lsusb shows:

<device-id> Microdia Sonix USB 2.0 Camera

How can I configure this camera ? Can some one suggest any application software through which I can take pictures on this camera ?

thanking in advance

I would suggest using ndiswrapper and following this tutorial on getting your wireless working

http://fedoramobile.org/fc-wireless/ndis-yum-livna

You can try using an application such as camorama to test your webcam.

Hello,

Before using ndiswrapper, you might consider going through this tutorial for CentOS. Normally you only use ndiswrapper when there is no driver available for Linux as far as I know, since you can use the Windows driver with ndiswrapper.

Kind regards,

Eric

When I go to Network screen and select "other wireless card", the actual card is not listed.
What to do ?

Also any suggestion for making camera operative ?
