wifi advice

anyone is welcome to leave tips and wifi tricks here

I ran in to a problem setting up wifi on a dell studio
tried every wifi fix I could find on this forum
I would have started to think it was a hardware problem had it not worked running windoze
the problem was the external wifi switch was off and windoze was ignoring it
SO
check the external wifi switch

...and your thread title was "wifi advice", which you lead off with:

But this really isn't a problem, is it?? Nothing, on any platform (laptop/desktop/whatever), is going to work until you turn it on.
