Angry Video Display not working

Ok, this is just driving me nutz to no end.

I have a Gateway solo1450, with the 830m chipset. I'm running fedora core 2 and i can't get my display to work on anything but 640x480.

I've checked out a few sites including linux-laptop and well....i guess i could say i just don't know what i'm doing. I looked at the xorg.conf file and 1024x673 is there. But i can't get it to go to that resolution.

I've also tried to install that patch from intel and i get module errors.

Any help would be very very appreciated
