VAIO FS640/W Mepis...no sound
I love Mepis... it fits well on my Sony VAIO VGN-FS640/W. It won't, however, detect any audio devices. I've heard of other flavors of Linux detecting a sound card, so I'm sure there's a driver or something out there... I just can't seem to find it...
alsaconf finds the card, configures it and tells me to have fun, but this is the result of alsaconf...
Running update-modules...
Loading driver...
Setting default volumes...
Saving the mixer setup used for this in /var/lib/alsa/asound.state.
/usr/sbin/alsactl: save_state:1163: No soundcards found...
azx 0000:00:1b.o 0403 Intel Corp 82801FB/FBM/FR/FW/FRW is what it finds and configures successfully...
Any thoughts? Anyone?
