Lightbulb Ubuntu on Lenovo 3000 N500


My father purchased me the Lenovo 3000 N500 Model 4233-54U Laptop a week ago today (2/&/09). Her is My review as of yet. The remaindethis r of this post is also on the Linux Lap Top Wiki Page for this moddel of Lenovo Laptop,

Ubuntu works for me as aswell, with video in Skype in addition to the Xfce desktop environment.

I notice you mention Ubuntu in the body of your post, Mandriva in your profile, and OpenSolaris in your sig. Which did you install?

As well as the linux on laptops page, Ubuntu also has a laptop testing page with a big list of the things they'd like tested.

I installed Ubuntu, because i read a favourable review on the Linux Laptop wiki page.

Lenovo N500 update

I finally settled on Debian Lenny, but before i did the final installation i replaced the hared drive with a 500gb western digital Caviar Blue. So the fuuly correct system specifications are as follows.

system Stupefactions

Lenovo 3000 N500 4233-54U With after market 500gb hd

Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) Dual CPU T3400 @ 2.16GHz

Memory: 3G or (3072MB)

SDA: 500GB
