SUSE 10 Doesn't Recognize my Treo 650

I'm trying to use Gnome pilot to Sync my treo 650. I'm running SUSE 10. Only thing is, Linux doesn't recognize my USB Sync cable when I plug it in, so I can't tell Gnome pilot which "port" I'm syncing with.

With a USB cable, you must initiate the "connection" from the Treo first (click Hotsync on the Treo first). Only then will the device show up under /dev/tts/USB. Serial cables don't have this problem.
