SuSe 10.1 on Laptop

I just got a new inspiron e1505.

I just got the suse 10.1 version and I think it is by far the best distro I have seen for a laptop!!!!!!

I dont have to write a script to get the wireless nic working.
Just load the driver and modprobe ndiswrapper and their you go, it is up and running.

Just thought I would share my excitement with you guys!!!!

WoooHoooo

Now I dont need windows for the portable!!

For me Suse 10.1 broke wireless support that worked perfectly fine in Suse 10. I am glad that someone has positive experiences with Suse 10.1.

Yeah.. 10.1 broke my Wireless too, but that was because the Firmware needed was on the Add-On CD which I didn't use when I did the new clean install.. once I installed the firmware from Add-On CD.. then TADA.. Up online.

IMO Some of the features are better (ie. NetworkManager) but somethings need work (YaST, Updater)
