Sound issues... except for the loud beep when I do something wrong...

Hey,
I have a Toshiba M35 S359 notebook and I can't get the sound to work. I have a fresh-er install of Slack 9.1 and I would like to have my sound configured... I'm not sure how to go about this.
TIA

Run over to www.alsa-project.org and pick up their driver source to compile. This also came up in a google search (google is an invaluable research tool ) http://nieder.host.sk/m35/tosh.html
