Slackware on iBook?

Hi all. Does anyone of you guys run slackware 9 or 10 on Apple iBook? I thought of buying a new laptop for myself. I know that debian and gentoo can run on iBook but i would prefer slackware. Please advice. Thanks!

Slackware wont run on your iBook as it is designed for x86 systems.

There have been ports of other Linux distros over to the Mac though.

Ubuntu is one of the latest & is based on Debian. Seems to install very well with most things working just from listening on their irc channel. Support is aslo good.

You can run Linux apps on Max os X by using X11 - although I'm not sure if that's what your after. I haven't tried using X11 on my 366 iBook.

Other PPC Linux distributions are
Yellow Dog Linux (based on Red HAt)
I think Mandrake has a port too

Unless ofcourse you want to emulate x86 on your iBook wit a program like "Virtual PC" - obviously being emulated it will be slower, still need Mac os & 3rd party software.
