Screen resolution

Hello everybody.

On a fresh installation of Ubuntu 18.04 on an old laptop Asus, the screen resolution is 640x480, and it seems it is impossible to change it.

The xrandr command shows:
Quote:
#Failed to get size of gamma for output default
and there is no display device name written.

I have tried as well to install unity control center, and there is no display command.
Quote:
#unity-control-center display
#(unity-control-center:3735): WARNING **: 00:48:36.688: Could not find setting panel "display".
Any idea how to fix this problem? Thanks for the help in advance.

Which model? All indications are that your graphics device is being handled by a basic frame-buffer driver. Graphics hardware details please.
Code:
inxi -Gxx
