rtl8187 chipset can no longer connect to the internet

I have a strange issue. I can connect to wireless networks from Linux
(Ubuntu 9.04 64-bit using rtl8187 chipset), but I can't see outside of
the LAN. I can ping the gateway and each computer while in windows. I
get the same dns, dhcp obtained info and can connect although the
Linux driver works better when it was working because with the windows
one, the internet often cuts out. I have no rules or anything when
doing iptables -L, and I did do an iptables -F.

Sounds like scripts have overwritten your /etc/resolv.conf

open it for editing (as root) when you are connected, and add your dns servers, or these from opendns
nameserver 208.67.222.222
nameserver 208.67.220.220

Then try it. You can fix this by setting DHCPKEEPRESOLV=yes, but that's distro specific. In Centos, I think it's /etc/sysconfig/something-to-do-with-network

Problem was eth1 was set with static ip info to the same gateway. The problem has been resolved.
