Open zaurus 3.3.5 memory allocation

I decided to try the new version of Open zaurus, 3.3.5. I got the kernel with 52 MB memory and 12 MB of storage for the SL-5500. Once the ram is flashed the system info shows 32mb memory and package manager shows that I have 32mb ram to install programs. Does anyone have any ideas what is going on?
Thanks

That seems odd

I had problems in the past with flashing where my zImage somehow ended up with a .bin extension.

I know that seems pretty far out there, but it's all I got.
My only suggestion is to d/l again and make sure to check the md5sums, and re-flash.

Also, you might check out the forums over at http://www.zaurususergroup.com/ There could be more help there........

Sounds like the build boys messed up

Post your problem to the OpenZ guys, probably just needs to be rebuilt. Since it is hardcoded into the kernel, there isn't anything you can do about it anyways.

I've played with the OpenZ kernels in the past and they are nice. I'm currently running Sharp's latest build. It also has improved.

Have you seen the SL-860? I'll probably be ordering one soon

Or at least I'd like to think so

As for:

"I had problems in the past with flashing where my zImage somehow ended up with a .bin extension."

Welcome to Windows my good man I had to correct a couple hundred rpm's that got d/l'ed as .ram (RealPlayer).

My guess is the .bin extension. Windows likes to monkey around with file extensions when you're not looking
