vim on zaurus with open zaurus libncurses problem

hi all,
i was running the sharp os and vim worked splendidly. along with a little compiler for java that i've been using it was quite a joy.
now i have switched to open zaurus though and vim has a problem with libncurses. at first it didnt want to run because it couldnt find libncurses.so.4
i tried fixing it via way of a symlink to libncurses.so.5.3 used on the OZ. it almost works now but gives a undefined symbol error (__udivsi3) when loading shared libraries when i start vim. what is the sollution here?

Ether recompile/link your vim again to use libncurses.so.5 or provide an older version of the ncurses library (the so.4).
